Coalition Meetings

The coalition consists of members from twelve of the sectors of community coalitions. Our current members represent at least one of the following sectors:

  • Youth
  • Parents
  • Business Community
  • Media
  • Schools
  • Youth Serving Organizations
  • Law Enforcement Agencies
  • Religious or Fraternal Organizations
  • Civic and Volunteer Groups
  • Healthcare Professionals
  • State, Local or Tribal Government Agencies
  • Other Organizations Involved with Reducing Substance Abuse

Delaware Prevention Coalition meetings consist of members of the local community  working together to address issues and concerns in their community, as well as strategizing implementation of resources.

Alternative Activies

Youth Prevention Frontliner Groups
(ages 13-17)

DPC aims to enable youth to learn about the perils of underage drinking, marijuana use and other dangerous substances and behaviors; develop self-esteem, leadership, employment, planning, decision-making and resistance skills

 Lunch and Learns
(ages 5-17)

 Lunch and Learns are implemented within a school/church to address underage drinking, binge drinking, laws for minors and risky behaviors via interactive information sessions

Delaware Prevention Coalition Staff implements evidenced-based programming, such as All-Stars and Making Proud Choices in schools, faith-based organizations, and community-based organizations.

Parent Engagement

One of the major goals of Delaware Prevention Coalition is to increase parental involvement and parental awareness of prevention information. This is implemented through workshops and environmental approaches.
